A dash camera can be useful only when it has a clear view, stable power and reliable storage. Our work begins with the exact vehicle and camera system because windshield design, trim construction, rear hatch movement, cable length and power accessories differ. We plan the route before opening trim and test the system before handover.
Front camera installation
A focused option for drivers who want forward road coverage. We choose a practical windshield position, route the power cable discreetly and confirm the camera records correctly.
Front and rear installation
Dual-channel systems add rear coverage and require a longer cable route. SUVs, hatchbacks and pickups may require different routing approaches from a sedan.
Three-channel and rideshare
Front, rear and cabin configurations support rideshare, taxi and delivery work. We discuss cabin placement, audio preferences and privacy controls before setup.
What happens during your appointment
- Compatibility review. We confirm the camera model, included cables, hardwire kit and vehicle information.
- Placement discussion. We identify useful camera positions that minimize obstruction and preserve practical coverage.
- Cable routing. Wiring is secured along an appropriate route while considering trim, airbags and moving components.
- Power connection. The system is connected using the agreed outlet, USB or hardwire method.
- Testing and handover. We verify recording, rear feed, memory card recognition and basic settings with the customer.
Outlet power or hardwire installation?
A 12 volt outlet or compatible USB connection can be appropriate when the camera is needed mainly while driving. It may leave part of the power cable visible and often does not provide true parking mode.
A compatible hardwire kit can create a cleaner appearance and support parking recording. The camera, hardwire kit and selected circuit must work together. Low voltage protection helps manage battery risk, but no setup eliminates all battery considerations.
Review our parking mode hardwire service before choosing accessories.
Why installation difficulty varies
A dash camera advertised as easy to install may still require detailed work. Rear camera cables can pass through tight trim, weather seals and moving liftgates. Trucks may require longer routes. Some vehicles have limited suitable fuse positions, while newer electrical systems demand additional care.
We quote according to the actual configuration rather than treating every vehicle as the same. The number of channels, body style, power method, existing equipment and desired parking mode all affect labor.
Customer supplied systems are welcome
You can bring a dash camera purchased from any reputable retailer. Before the appointment, provide the brand and exact model. For front and rear systems, confirm the rear camera and connection cable are included. For parking mode, confirm whether the hardwire kit is included or must be sourced separately.
Memory cards are also important. Continuous recording creates frequent write cycles, so a high endurance card within the manufacturer’s supported capacity is generally preferable.

New Jersey serviceFrequently asked questions
How long does dash cam installation take?
Appointment length depends on the vehicle, camera channels and power method. A front-only installation is usually less involved than a front and rear system with parking mode. We provide an estimated duration with the quote.
Can you install a dash cam in a Tesla or electric vehicle?
Compatibility must be reviewed by vehicle and camera model. Electric vehicles may have manufacturer-specific power and warranty considerations, so we confirm the proposed approach before accepting the installation.
Will any wires remain visible?
Our goal is discreet routing, but short portions may remain visible near the camera or power point. The exact result depends on the vehicle and agreed power method.
Can you install a rear camera on a pickup truck?
Many systems can be installed on pickups, but cable length, rear glass configuration and whether the camera is interior or exterior must be confirmed first.
Do you set up the dash cam app?
We can help confirm basic camera operation and connection. Account registration, cloud subscriptions and extensive app configuration may remain the customer’s responsibility.
Do you remove old dash camera systems?
Removal can usually be included in the quote. Tell us about existing wiring or adhesive mounts so the additional work can be planned.
