Installation options for the way you drive

Every vehicle and camera system presents a different installation challenge. A front-only camera may use a simple ignition-switched power source. A dual-channel system requires careful rear cable routing. Parking recording depends on both camera compatibility and an appropriate power method. We confirm these details before your appointment.

What is included

A professional process from planning to handover

We begin by confirming the vehicle year, make and model, the exact dash camera system and the coverage you expect. This prevents common problems such as a short rear cable, the wrong hardwire kit, an incompatible connector or a camera positioned where it obstructs the driver’s view.

  • Review of camera channels and included accessories
  • Practical front, rear and cabin camera placement
  • Discreet routing around appropriate trim areas
  • Power connection based on the agreed installation method
  • Basic setup and recording test before handover
  • Explanation of memory card care and normal operation
Customer supplied cameras

Bring your own dash camera

You do not have to purchase the camera from DashcamCraft. We install customer supplied systems when they are compatible with the vehicle and include the necessary cables and accessories.

Before scheduling:
Send the camera brand and model, vehicle details, number of camera channels and whether you want parking mode. A photo or product link can help confirm the required accessories.

If you have not selected a camera, we can help you compare useful features such as night performance, heat tolerance, cabin recording, app connectivity and storage capacity without pushing an unsuitable system.

Studio and mobile appointments

Our Maryland service base is located at 438R Main Street, Reisterstown, MD 21136. This controlled environment is suitable for detailed installations and avoids weather interruptions.

Mobile installation is available by appointment in eligible areas. Vehicle access, safe working space, weather and installation complexity determine whether mobile service is appropriate. Washington DC, Northern Virginia and New Jersey projects are scheduled individually.

What affects installation cost?

Pricing varies according to the number of cameras, vehicle body style, rear cable route, power method and any additional accessories. A front-only installation is normally less involved than a front and rear system with parking mode.

We provide a scope-specific quote instead of advertising one price that may not match your vehicle. Read our dash cam installation cost guide for a full explanation.

Service questions

Frequently asked questions

Will hardwiring void my vehicle warranty?

Warranty coverage depends on the vehicle manufacturer and the nature of any future claim. A properly planned installation is designed to avoid unnecessary modification, but customers should review vehicle warranty terms when concerned.

Can you install on leased vehicles?

Many dash cameras can be installed with reversible methods. Tell us the vehicle is leased so we can discuss the power and mounting approach before work begins.

Do you install rear cameras in SUVs and hatchbacks?

Yes. Rear camera routing in vehicles with moving liftgates can require additional labor because the cable must follow a safe route that accommodates movement.

Do you guarantee that parking mode will never drain the battery?

No installer should make that guarantee. Parking mode consumes power. Compatible low voltage protection can reduce risk, but battery condition, settings, temperature and parking duration still matter.
