A Clear, Vehicle-Conscious Installation Process
Know what information to provide, how to prepare the vehicle and what we check before handing it back.
Before you book
Have the vehicle year, make, model and trim ready. Tell us the camera brand and model, number of channels, whether you need parking mode, and whether the vehicle is leased, electric, hybrid or equipped with advanced driver-assistance cameras near the mirror.
How to prepare the vehicle
- Remove valuables and unnecessary items from the front and rear seating areas.
- Provide wheel-lock or security codes if access may be required.
- Bring the camera, rear or cabin modules, compatible hardwire kit and accessories unless supplied by DashcamCraft.
- Make sure the vehicle battery is in normal working condition.
- Tell us about existing electrical accessories, prior wiring work or known warning lights.
What happens at the appointment
- Walkaround and confirmation: we confirm the equipment, requested features and visible vehicle condition.
- Placement discussion: front, rear and cabin positions are chosen with visibility and safety systems in mind.
- Power and routing plan: the intended circuit, cutoff behavior and cable route are reviewed.
- Installation: cameras are mounted and wiring is routed discreetly.
- Testing: ignition behavior, recording, camera angles, parking mode and app connection are checked as applicable.
- Handoff: you receive a practical explanation of operation, footage access and memory-card care.
Typical timing
Timing depends on the vehicle, camera channels, parking-mode hardware and trim complexity. A straightforward front-camera installation may take less time than a front-and-rear hardwired system. Fleet, three-channel, battery-pack and complex luxury-vehicle installations require additional planning.
Before leaving the appointment
- Confirm the date and time are correct on the camera.
- Check the live view from every installed channel.
- Understand how to save important footage.
- Confirm the parking-mode behavior and cutoff setting.
- Keep the workmanship documentation and product receipts.
Changes and cancellations
Review the appointment cancellation and rescheduling policy before booking. Our workmanship warranty policy explains post-installation coverage.
